ASARP Leads the Way: The Evolution of Strategic Partnerships Between US and Indian Realtors Chicago, IL – To demonstrate its support for international business cooperation, the National Association of Realtors (NAR) recently held its annual convention in Boston, with over 13,000 participants, including representatives of the real estate industry from all over the world. Interestingly the event also hosted over 15 distinguished real estate personalities from NAR India which signaled the beginning of a new chapter of cooperation between the American and Indian property markets. The Indian team had some big names in the industry including Tarun Bhatia, Amit Chopra, Sumnath Reddy, TT Reddy, Ramkumar Krishnamoorthy, Chandrasekhar K., Shailesh Bahety, Kritish Korivi, Ashwin Rasane, and Amit Chug. Their involvement was a testament to the fact that both countries were equally determined to promote the positive attributes of a transparent, professional, and innovative real estate market. Building on the Partnership in Chicago As is the tradition, the NAR India delegation went to Chicago in order to entrench cooperation with the real estate players in the United States and identify other areas of Mutual Benefit such as MLS in India. They were able to make a site visit at the NAR headquarters, interact with Main Street Realtors, and meet with MRED, LLC which is the largest MLS provider based in Chicago. The group was accorded a warm reception by Pradeep B. Shukla, director at NAR and MRED, LLC, alongside other ASARP members. Key ASARP members from the US, including Sunita Kakarlapudi, Shirin Marvi, Bhailal M. Patel, Harsha Shukla, Raj Patel, Nick Verma, and Nimish Jani, also launched their statements to fortify the bond between the two countries in the property business. On this aspect, Mr. Shukla underlined the need for cooperation, hoping that transactions of clients from India who are interested in acquiring different forms of real estate in the USA, including residential, commercial, and investment ones, would become as seamless as possible. The growth of the Indian community in the U.S. and the trade relations, which have already exceeded $191 billion in 2023, make it equally interesting and promising for both organizations and for the real estate market as a whole to expand cooperation in this area. Promoting MLS Implementation in India Main agendas focused on the adoption of MLS in India, and in this regard, Rebecca Jensen and Pratik Padella of MRED provided valuable implications on the change that the system can bring. While addressing some of the issues related to the Indian real estate sector and emphasizing that it is highly unorganized, the chairman of NAR India, Sumnath Reddy, has a positive attitude toward MLS’s role in enhancing its transparency, credibility, and approachability. Ramkumar Krishnamoorthy and Kritish Korivi correctly pointed at the global partnerships and securely established cross-border transactions as key components. They pointed out that an MLS system would provide Indian buyers, sellers, and investors with accurate data, as is the case in the United States. Learn how this service empowers women to occupy leadership positions within the real estate sector. In its effort to promote diversity and inclusion, ASARP recently organized a dinner in recognition of women who are excelling in real estate. Sunita Kakarlapudi, Shirin Marvi, and Harsha Shukla, all influential speakers, gave a talk on empowering women in the industry. The event proved that ASARP was committed to supporting equality and diversity in real estate in both the US and India. A Vision for the Future Thus, at the end of the visit, Mr Pradeep Shukla urged the real estate agents to perform as cultural and professional mediators and facilitate clients in contemporary markets. In response, ASARP President Sunita Kakarlapudi extended her appreciation to the delegation, offering them the NAR legislative meetings to be held in May 2025.
